Our tree climbing training is for commercial or recreational activities where it is necessary to ascend and move around in the crown of a tree. The use of ropes, helmet, and harness are the minimum requirements to ensure the safety of the climber although other equipment might also be used depending on the experience and skill of the tree climber. Tree climbing is an “on rope” activity that combines a mixture of techniques and gear principally derived from rock climbing, sailing and caving. Each tree is an individual living, breathing organism and no two trees are exactly the same.
Tree climbing training for commercial or recreational activities.
Modern tree climbing techniques enable the tree climber to position them self safely anywhere in the tree canopy. A tree climber who is positioned safely will have fewer incidents. For efficient tree rigging and pruning a good knowledge about modern tree climbing will increase the productivity of the climber.
The 3 day tree climbing training is tailored specifically for first time tree climber. The aim is to impart knowledge about the basic principles of tree climbing. Introduction to Tree climbing training gives insight into theoretical and practical tree climbing techniques, different knots and important safety measures. Successful completion enables the participant to access and move in a tree safely and to perform a basic aerial rescue.
Introduction to Modern Tree Climbing
This workshop is designed for experienced arborist and tree workers who climb in a traditional style. After attending this tree climbing training the participant will understand the difference between modern and traditional tree climbing.
Advanced Tree Climbing Techniques
This workshop is designed for arborists and tree workers who have a basic understanding of modern tree climbing. The advanced tree climbing techniques course provides participants with the skills to use advanced double rope work positioning techniques. The participants will learn techniques that reduce the time needed to access a tree as well as ways to increase their safety when climbing difficult trees.
Single (Stationary) Rope Technique (SRT) for Tree Climbing
This workshop is designed for arborists and tree workers who have a basic understanding of modern tree climbing but have not yet or just started using single (stationary) rope technique. After attending this tree climbing training the participant will understand the advantages and disadvantages of single (stationary) rope technique for access and work positioning in tree climbing.
