Tree safety in schools is now more of a priority than ever before, especially with adverse weather conditions causing widespread damage throughout the cooler months of the year. While trees can be a source of shelter and shade in school environments, they can also pose a safety risk if they’re not well cared for.
Pro Climb cares about trees and safety, making their experienced team of arborists the perfect people to provide expert advice and inspect all trees at your school.
REQUEST A TREE SURVEY FROM PRO CLIMB
If you’re concerned about tree safety in your school, request a tree survey from a Pro Climb qualified arborist. Our arborists will record information about the structure and condition of your trees, apply a priority ranking, and outline the remedial works advised. This will ensure we can manage all trees in accordance with their requirements. All information is presented in plain English and is easy to understand.
TREE SAFETY IN SCHOOLS: WHY CAN A TREE BE DANGEROUS?
Well-maintained trees are valuable and long-living assets that require minimal maintenance. However, when trees are not professionally maintained, they can develop defects that can become serious safety risks.
To reduce the risk of this happening and ensure your trees remain as healthy and as safe as possible, contact an experienced arboriculture company to complete a full tree survey.
A tree survey provides many benefits. Firstly, your school will be able to estimate a budget to maintain your trees in a safe and cost-effective way. It can also allow you to prioritise tree safety in schools while preventing vegetation from overgrowing school buildings and playgrounds or other school zones used by students and staff. What are you waiting for? Have your educational environment assessed by a qualified and experienced arborist to create and maintain a safe surrounding for all.
HOW DO WE DO A TREE SURVEY REPORT?
If you’re being encouraged to request a tree survey report to prioritise tree safety in schools, it pays to know what’s involved in the process.
We use an industry best practice technique known as Visual Tree Inspection (VTA). This involves a skilled arborist visually assessing the tree and its immediate surroundings for any signs of defects or dysfunction. The arborist may also use a sounding hammer and a probe to investigate any cavities, cracks, or other abnormalities.
The inspection is from ground level only, and no samples are taken. Should the tree survey indicate a more detailed inspection is required, a full climbing inspection can be arranged with or without the use of electronic tree inspection equipment. Read our tree survey post to learn more…
