Become an Arborist Crew Leader at Pro Climb
Pro Climb is excited to announce an opening for a qualified arborist crew leader to join their Auckland-based team. This position involves working from 279 Church Street in Onehunga and providing a variety of arboriculture services for local authorities, estates, private tree owners, schools, and kindergartens.
In this role, you’ll be carrying out small, medium, and large tree maintenance tasks with an emphasis on tree protection and conservation. Being an arborist crew leader with Pro Climb also requires you to lead a team of arborists and assist the team leader with work scheduling.
Pro Climb values team players with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills who can also teach and mentor. Having multi-tasking and project management skills while also working to timelines and under pressure are desirable skills and qualities to have.
Pro Climb also prefers all arborist crew leader appliances to have:
- 3+ years arborist experience
- Full current driver’s licence
- National Certificate in Arboriculture – Level 4 or equivalent
- Current first-aid certificate and tourniquet training
- STMS Level 1 qualification
In return, you’ll be treated to a safe working environment with all PPE supplied, wage/experience equity, regular and ongoing training, industry event attendance, and a standard climbing kit. You may also be reimbursed for using your own kit.

This position involves a wide variety of arboriculture work, with no two days the same. Enjoy performing tree maintenance for authorities, private tree owners, estates, schools, and kindergartens, with an emphasis on protection and conservation.
The role of arborist crew member requires you to have a full current driver’s licence, 1+ years of arborist experience, and a National Certificate in Arboriculture – level 3 or equivalent. It’s also desirable if applicants have a current first aid certificate and tourniquet training and a traffic controller level 1 qualification.
If you tick those boxes and consider yourself a team player with great interpersonal and oral skills, you can expect a safe workplace in return.
