We are happy to announce that we have produced a new and improved version of the PCRB.
What has improved?
One of our customers had an incident where a knot in his rigging rope caught on the rope guiding hook and deformed the hook so that the hook had to be replaced. To prevent this, the new unit has rope guiding pegs that would allow a knot to pass.
We added the bottom strap guide after Rossy had shock loaded the unit with 5 tons force and found that the bottom edge plate had wandered beneath the bottom strap and damaged it. In this scenario now the bottom strap guide would catch the strap and carry it up with the unit and prevent the damage. The damage to the strap was minor and the rigging operation could still be completed.
We shortened the top rope guiding bar to allow for an easier removal of rope wraps while lowering.
The drum of the PCRB was shortened to reduce the force on the holding straps. The drum can still accommodate five wraps of a 28mm rope.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding the improvements of the PCRB.
